I worked at Carrier. I was betrayed by Donald Trump

During the 2016 election, I went out in the rain to vote for Donald Trump. I believed him when he pledged to stop outsourcing and put working people first. I was heartened when he promised, on election night, to defend the “forgotten men and women of our country.” Most of all, I believed him when he said he’d save my job at the Carrier plant in Indianapolis. Last month, despite Trump’s promise, Carrier laid off another 215 employees and shifted their work to Mexico. I lost my job. As a result, I’m losing my health insurance, my retirement benefits and quite possibly my home. Now, more than anything, I want Donald Trump to remember me. I feel betrayed, angry and forgotten — and I’m not READ MORE

The Nunes Memo Is a Big Win for Donald Trump

February 2, 2018 Admin3915 0

President Donald Trump departs the White House Feb. 2, 2018 in Washington, D.C. Win McNamee/Getty Images The Devin Nunes memo is, as was widely expected, a dud . It reveals nothing new, and answers none of the crucial questions raised by former law enforcement officials who have said there is nothing in this report that warrants its release. Indeed, in an opening missive that truly puts the “cover” in cover letter, White House counsel Don McGahn doesn’t even bother to respond to the arguments put forth by the Justice Department, which strongly urged that the memo not be released and cautioned that it would be “extraordinarily reckless ” to do so without first giving the DOJ and FBI the opportunity to review it. The FBI READ MORE

And he praised Mr Trump for “sending out a warning” when he spoke of human rights violations in North Korea. GOP Releases Nunes Memo After Donald Trump Brushes Off FBI Objections

February 2, 2018 Admin3915 0

The controversial “Nunes Memo” has been released by House Republicans with the approval and at the urging of President Donald Trump . The memo, which Democrats and the FBI say the document is misleading in its allegations of FBI surveillance abuse, claims that the FBI and Department of Justice officials were aware that the author of the so-called Steele dossier, used to secure a FISA warrant to surveil Trump campaign adviser Carter Page , had a strong anti-Trump bias. Trump told reporters this morning, “I think it’s a disgrace what’s happening in our country. A lot of people should be ashamed of themselves” The release of the memo drew swift condemnation from Democrats. Minority leader Nancy Pelosi said that Trump “has surrendered his constitutional responsibility as READ MORE

John McCain Says Trump Is ‘Doing Putin’s Job for Him’ by Attacking the FBI

February 2, 2018 Admin3915 0

Sen. John McCain accused President Donald Trump of “doing Putin’s job for him” Friday morning after Trump accused leadership of the Justice Department and FBI of anti-Republican bias. After Trump tweeted that investigators looking into Russian involvement in the 2016 election have “politicized the sacred investigative process in favor of Democrats and against Republicans,” McCain released a statement arguing that Trump is dividing Americans from one another, which is what Russia wants . The statement does not reference the GOP memo criticizing the FBI investigation of Carter Page , but it came just as House Republicans released the memo with White House permission. Read the Arizona Republican’s response in full: In 2016, the Russian government engaged in an elaborate plot to interfere in an American READ MORE

On the eve of President Donald Trump ’s release of the so-called “Nunes Memo,” late-night host Jimmy Kimmel took off his gloves. “This is a memo written by Devin Nunes , a Republican Congressman from California that claims the FBI overstepped their surveillance of Trump foreign policy adviser Carter Page in a very obvious attempt to paint the FBI as biased against Trump and to discredit the work of Special Counsel Mueller,” Kimmel told viewers. “This is how our government works now: If your party is in charge, you can lie, you can cheat, you can game the system to benefit your buddies, you can basically do whatever you want,” he said. Nunes, a Republican Congressman from California, heads the House Intelligence Committee and oversees READ MORE

A large majority of Americans in both political parties think President Donald Trump should consent to an interview with special counsel Robert Mueller , according to a new poll. Did Donald Trump Read the Memo? Could He Read It?

February 2, 2018 Admin3915 0

We know from reporting about the Trump administration, from an overheard comment before the State of the Union address, and from President Trump’s own Twitter feed that Trump is very excited about the Devin Nunes memo. We know Trump believes the memo discredits the FBI as a tool of the biased deep state, provides him with a pretext to interfere with or close down the Mueller investigation, and wants it released to the public. Here’s one thing we don’t know: Has Trump read the memo? I am willing to bet he has not. The country has grown so accustomed to the mental limitations of its president that we have largely skipped over this question. And yet, the Department of Justice and the FBI believe there READ MORE
